On the 2nd of January a Greek man arrived with a small dog with a broken leg. He found him in the village and the leg looked like it had been broken for a few days and the bone was sticking through the wound.

We called the 24 hour vet in Heraklion and thankfully Bill was at the shelter at the same time and he brought him to the vet. They made an x-ray and said his bone marrow was infected so they are not sure how well he will heal and can just hope they manage to clear all the infection with antibiotics and operate to repair the break with metal pins. We called him Benji. He is doing very well and hopefully the bone will knit together.
There are no funds left to pay for his operation, so if you are willing to contribute to the cost of the operation for Benji please make a donation.
